About us
Twenty years of showing up, and staying
We Care Society is a non-profit committed to empowering communities, protecting the environment and fostering sustainable development — working to alleviate poverty and achieve inclusive growth through active community engagement.
WCS aims to alleviate poverty and achieve inclusive growth and development through active community engagement, which ensures optimal long-term gains and upward accountability.
We are a dedicated professional organisation actively involved in sustainable development initiatives aimed at improving quality of life for underprivileged communities. Our work is to enhance quality of life through initiatives that promote socio-economic inclusion, environmental resilience and community wellbeing — and we collaborate with local stakeholders, government agencies and the private sector to drive meaningful, sustainable change.
Over two decades we have planned and executed 78 projects benefiting more than 2.35 lakh people: economically disadvantaged community members, marginalised communities, poor and marginal farmers, small landholders, transgender persons, unemployed rural youth, economically weaker women, people with disabilities, women entrepreneurs, and malnourished women and children — alongside addressing the environmental issues those communities live with.
Our vision
To align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals — and to hold our own programmes to the same standard.
Each of our four focus areas maps to a defined set of SDGs, which is how we decide what to take on and how we report on it.
Our mission
To create resilient communities by providing sustainable solutions in agriculture, environmental conservation, rural development and social empowerment.
Through targeted programmes we aim to uplift marginalised groups, build capacity and create inclusive economic opportunities.
Our focus areas
Four areas, all aligned to the UN SDGs
Sustainability and climate; livelihood, skilling and women empowerment; sustainable agriculture and food security; and community healthcare, water and sanitation. Through this multifaceted approach we continue to positively impact vulnerable communities by addressing pressing environmental, social and economic challenges.
Sustainable Agriculture & Food Security
Promoting farming practices that raise yields and incomes without exhausting the land, so that food security today does not come at the cost of the next generation.
Livelihood, Skilling, Rural Development & Women Empowerment
Our largest body of work. We build rural livelihoods through an entrepreneurship lens — skilling people, upgrading their technology, and organising them into MSME clusters that can hold their own in the market.
Sustainability, Environment & Climate Change Mitigation
Implementing eco-friendly practices at community level, building awareness of climate impacts, and reducing the carbon footprint of the rural enterprises we support.
Community Healthcare, Water & Sanitation
Access to basic healthcare, clean water and improved sanitation, aimed at reducing health disparities in marginalised areas and creating healthier living conditions.
