WCS is a purpose-driven organisation dedicated to enhancing digital literacy, coding skills and computational thinking, particularly among underserved rural and semi-urban communities. By equipping people with essential digital and technical skills, we help them participate meaningfully in the digital economy.

Digital Skill Set Initiatives for Rural Youth

Run under the Digital Literacy Mission, in line with the national vision of making one person in every household digitally literate by 2030. Around 1,000 rural students aged 16 and above are trained per centre each year — with no gender bar — in computer operations, MS Office, email, voice communication and online banking.

Job-Oriented Training for Rural Youth

A structured training programme for rural Karnataka youth aged 18–35, of all genders, designed around roles that employers are actively hiring for: Warehouse Executive (logistics), Data Entry Operator (IT & ITES), Machine Operator (capital goods) and Micro Finance Executive.

Skill-Set Enhancement for Rural Youth

A decade-long engagement with Sri Degul Mutt in Kanakapura, Ramanagara district, supporting students of the Mutt and rural youth from surrounding villages with skill-set enhancement training courses.

Farmer Education Programme — Digital Literacy

Awareness and training programmes at Village Panchayat level that teach farmers how to find and use online information — particularly daily market prices, so that a farmer knows the current rate for any commodity and cannot be short-changed by middlemen or dealers.

Financial Literacy Campaign for Inclusive Growth

Community mobilisation and financial literacy campaigns across 25 villages of Ramanagara and 25 villages of Magadi taluk. Interested villagers were accompanied to nationalised banks and the Atal Pension Yojana was attached to their savings accounts with full documentation support.

Skill Enhancement for Textile Processors & Weavers

Traditional weavers in Karimnagar district, Telangana, were unable to move up into dyeing and yarn-making processes. WCS and PRDIS upgraded this workforce with modern techniques and market exposure through continuous design-thinking workshops and exposure visits.

Cyber Safe Campus Programme

Educating students and staff in educational institutions about cyber security practices — responsible online behaviour, password management, phishing detection and data protection — to create a safer digital environment on campus.

Bridging Academic Innovation and Industrial Success

Every year students develop projects with real commercial potential, but the journey from technical prototype to marketable product runs into challenges outside the curriculum — market demand, reliable manufacturing partners, a scalable business model. WCS and Solution Buggy address this through technical training sessions at PESIT.

Be the Change Programme

Facilitation of basic needs for deprived children from backward areas. WCS adopted a number of children and supported their fundamental requirements over 6–8 months, alongside communication skills coaching and basic computer skills through the WCS digital literacy centre on the school premises.
